Things to know about Immigrant Nominee Program

It is a known fact that Canada always welcomes immigration and believes firmly that immigrants contribute to their economy. To be precise, Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada or IRCC aims to admit as many permanent residents as possible. One of the ways, IRCC aims to achieve the target is through the Nominee Program or PNP. The Immigrant Nominee program allows most provinces to target the immigrants with Temporary Visas who have particular education, work skills and more. If the applicant meets the provincial need, they can nominate the person to become a permanent resident.

What is so special about British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program?

There are three possible pathways of the Nominee Program; each of these has different categories. These pathways include Express Entry BC, Skills Immigration and Entrepreneur Immigration. The application would be paper-based and the candidate should apply under one of the five categories: Skilled Worker, Healthcare Professional, International Graduate, International Post Graduate, Entry-Level and Semi Skilled.

Skills Immigration

To apply under this pathway, you need to have a valid, full-time job and not a contract position. However, there is an exception in case you are applying under the International Post Graduate category

Express Entry BC

The aim is to fill the high demand position in the province with the workers who have proper skills as well as experience. With the Skills Immigration pathway, the individual must have a full-time job offer, unless of course he is applying under the International Post graduate category.

Entrepreneur Immigration

It is targeted to individuals who wish to establish their business in Canada. In case of meeting personal criteria, you need to prove you have sufficient worth and have proper management experience. For business criteria, you need to declare either buying or becoming a partner in a company.
